William Lucking, standing at an imposing 6ft 3½ (191.8 cm), brought a towering presence to his rugged roles in film and television.
Best known for portraying the veteran biker Piney Winston in Sons of Anarchy (2008–2011), his height enhanced the character's authoritative stature among the outlaw motorcycle club. Lucking's stature perfectly suited heroic and tough-guy parts, including Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, The Magnificent Seven Ride (1972), The Rundown (2003), and Babe Ruth (1991), where he noted in 1982, "Babe [Ruth] was 6-foot-2... I'm 6-foot-3."
His commanding 6ft 3½ frame amplified his memorable performances across genres, from westerns to action thrillers like Red Dragon and K-Pax.
