Hervé Villechaize, standing at exactly 3ft 10 (116.8 cm), was a French-American actor whose diminutive height became a defining feature of his iconic career.
His small stature perfectly suited roles like Tattoo, the pint-sized assistant to Mr. Roarke on the hit TV series Fantasy Island (1977–1984), where he famously shouted "Da plane! Da plane!" from the tower.
Villechaize also shone in film as Nick Nack, the agile henchman in the James Bond thriller The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), using his 3ft 10 frame to deliver memorable, height-defying action and comedy.
