Hampton Fancher, towering at an exact 6ft 3 (190.5 cm), is an American actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker whose impressive height profoundly shaped his career path and self-perception.
He once dreamed of bullfighting but abandoned it, quipping, 'I decided I was too tall to be a bullfighter. I towered over them, and it didn't look fair.' In acting, his stature led to frustrations: 'Everybody talks about how great it is to be tall, but sometimes an actor can look pretty silly standing alongside a five-foot-two leading lady. It's all right for cowboys and tennis players and house painters. But for an all-around leading man, I think I'm too tall.'
